About Kaunas
EJOI 2026 will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania’s second-largest city and an important academic and cultural centre. Located at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, Kaunas combines historic architecture, modernist heritage, and a vibrant student atmosphere.
Participants will have the opportunity not only to compete in the olympiad, but also to experience the city's historic old town, lively public spaces, and welcoming academic community.
Kaunas is home to several universities and research institutions, making it a natural host city for an international competition celebrating young talent in computer science.

Host Venue
Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is the largest technical university in Lithuania and one of the country’s leading centres for science and innovation. Located in Kaunas—a vibrant student city—KTU combines a strong academic tradition with a modern, international outlook. It is consistently ranked among the top universities in the region, including in the QS World University Rankings.
EJOI 2026 will be hosted at KTU’s Faculty of Informatics, a place where computer science has been taught and developed for nearly 50 years. Established in 1977, the faculty is one of the leading hubs for informatics education and research in Lithuania, bringing together around 2,000 students and a large, active academic community.
The faculty has a strong connection with the real world of technology: students regularly collaborate with companies, participate in international projects, and work on innovative solutions—from cybersecurity challenges to award-winning inventions. Many of Lithuania’s top competitive programmers and IT specialists have studied or worked here, making it a fitting venue for a contest like EJOI.
During your stay, you’ll experience a modern campus environment designed for learning, collaboration, and creativity—right in the heart of one of the Baltic region’s most student-friendly cities.
